Evolution Makes Plans to Expand Into South Africa
Part of Evolution Gaming’s aggressive expansion plans include every regulated gaming market. Through agreements with various casino operators around the world, the company’s portfolio has been successfully launched in many available markets. One of the first steps to enter the South African market is to obtain the necessary license. Evolution can cross that task off the list. The company has secured its National Manufacturers license from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board (WCGRB).
Why Does Evolution Make Plans to Expand Into South Africa?
Known as the leading provider of Live Casino solutions in the gaming industry, expansion into this market is a logical move. A key piece of the plan was the acquisition of Ezugi. This will allow Evolution to distribute its gaming portfolio throughout the South African region. Distribution will go directly to all licensed gaming operators.
Martin Carlesund is Group CEO at Evolution. His comments on the latest expansion plans were:
“We are delighted to have received this license. And look forward to opening our world-leading live dealer games portfolio to operators and players in South Africa. Thanks in large part to the great experience already gained in this market by our Ezugi subsidiary.
We are entering a really exciting new vertical in this region. He went on to add:
“Our world-leading live dealer solutions and live event betting solutions too will be available not only on desktop, tablet and smartphone but also in retail betting shops.” Also commenting on the expansion plans was Kfir Kugler as the founder and CEO of Ezugi.
Those thoughts were:
“There is long-term potential in the regulated South African market to deliver Evolution-powered live dealer games. And fixed-odds solutions to operators. And to bring players the most entertaining live games and live Game Show games available in the world, alongside exciting new betting products.”
This is just one of a few expansion plans that have been announced this year. The company already has plans to partner with Parx Casino for expansion in two new US markets. Parx has plans to launch Live Casino games in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania markets.
There will be a wide range of online streamed live dealer table games from an existing New Jersey studio. There are plans to build a Pennsylvania studio as well.
Parx Casino is owned and operated by Greenwood Racing Inc. It runs a land-based casino just outside Philadelphia as the largest in the state. The expansion into online casino gambling is off to a fast start.
Later in January, Evolution inked a deal with Groupe Partouche to expand into the regulated Swiss market. This was a natural progression given the company’s strong presence in the European market. The Live Casino portfolio should be available for launch before the end of the second quarter this year.
Groupe Partouche is one of the biggest casino operators in Europe. Based in France, this group operates 42 casinos across its home country as well as Switzerland and Belgium. Many of these venues have been inspired by Las Vegas casinos.
